An unidentified male driver escaped injuries Friday evening after his Ford van left the roadway and rolled over along Lafayette Avenue, Route 54, coming to rest on the front lawn of a private residence. Police, fire and medical responders rushed to the scene shortly after 7 p.m. Passing motorists said the vehicle appeared to smolder for a short time although no fire was reported. Police were still investigating the incident at press time.
