Lehighton's Chief of Police Neal Ebbert suggested to borough council this week that the borough ordinance be updated to address tents and other temporary structures.
He said currently there is very little in the ordinance pertaining to the tents from which flowers and fireworks are sold.
The tents are generally put up along highways for several weeks around holiday seasons.
He said the only rules regarding these tents are the same ones that pertain to street vendors who walk along parade routes peddling balloons and cotton candy.
