A Tamaqua man has been charged with driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol following an incident in Tamaqua on April 6.
Mark Drum, 29, was operating a 2006 Nissan pickup truck southbound on Greenwood Street at 3:06 a.m. when he was stopped by Patrolman Karl Harig. Harig stopped Drum due to a previous incident in the same area.
Drum was transported to the Rush Township police station where he submitted to a portable breath test. The test indicated a blood-alcohol content of .177 percent, more than twice the legal limit of .08.
