April 16, 1991 Northwestern's 6-6 center, Mike Wertman, is named to the Small School PIAA All-State Third Team basketball squad. Wertman, a senior, averaged 14.8 points per game for the Tigers, coached by John Schmoyer. Wertman finished his season scoring double figures in 27 of his team's 29 games. He also helped lead his team to a 19-10 record, a district runner-up finish, and a berth in the state playoffs.
