A Philadelphia resident and her son, an inmate at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Mahanoy, Mahanoy Township, Schuylkill County, were arrested at the prison recently on drug and other charges.
State police at Frackville said Tameeka R. Hawkins, 40, was arrested on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance-marijuana, possession, and contraband into a prison.
Her son, David La-Qill Sparks, 23, was charged with criminal solicitation and two counts of criminal conspiracy.
