Charges are likely to be filed against a Lehighton man who was driving a UPS van that struck Jim Thorpe Fire Chief Bill Diehm Saturday morning, pending the completion of an investigation by borough police.
Jim Thorpe Police Chief Joseph Schatz said early Tuesday that Diehm was struck by the van, driven east on Lentz Trail by Steven M. Schock, 36, of Lehighton, at 10:25 a.m.
At the time, Diehm was standing by his vehicle alongside the road in the area of the borough water department.
