Carbon County Commissioners Thomas J. Gerhard, left; and William O'Gurek, right, recently accepted a $1,000 donation from members of the Carbon County Animal Shelter. Representing the shelter were Debbie Craver, county animal warden, second from left; and Tom Zimmerman IV, volunteer. Volunteers raised the money during the Rockin' Rescue event, held last weekend in Lehighton. Craver said to raise the money, they held a basket of cheer with dog products; a pick a pop game; and sold food.
