A one-vehicle crash shutdown a busy Schuylkill County road for over two hours and interrupted electrical power for almost 500 people on Tuesday. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the accident occurred about 7:34 a.m. in the area of 142 Pottsville St., in Cressona.
Troopers said Margaret Phillips, of Blandon, Berks County, was driving a 2007 Ford Fusion westbound headed toward SR183 when she lost control of the car.
The vehicle went onto the berm and struck a utility pole. After impact with the pole the car traveled northwest and struck a garage at 132 Pottsville St.
