Even though the weather Sunday was dark and damp, more the a hundred brave souls came out to Dog Days in the Park at Lehighton Park.
The event was the brainchild of Lehighton Area High School junior, Kamara Litchauer, as her senior project. The goal was to raise money for the Carbon County Animal Shelter.
There was food, music and vendors featuring animal-related merchandise.
Consummate K-9 of Andreas put on a demonstration of both human rescue/recovery by Lucas the German Shepard Dog and bomb detection by Buttercup, a Belgian Malinois.
