Lehighton police are still investigating a multivehicle crash that took place approximately 4 p.m. Thursday on North First Street.
The chain of events began minutes after Charlie Mae Ervin, of Jim Thorpe, parked her black Mercedes-Benz in front of the First National Pharmacy. She then went inside the pharmacy to send a fax. She heard a loud crash and went outside and found her car pushed onto the curb. The car had been pushed into a tree and a pile of garbage set by the curb for pickup. The trunk on her car had popped open after it was stuck.
