A veteran Coaldale councilwoman is the borough's new secretary-treasurer.
Council members who attended the public meeting Tuesday voted unanimously to hire Nancy Lorchak for the job. Council President Susan Solt and Councilman Steve Tentylo were absent.
Lorchak steps into the position held by Louise Lill, who will retire on Nov. 30. The full-time job pays a total of $24,500 a year, but does not include benefits.
Lorchak will start her new job in December, but must first resign her seat on council. That means council will be seeking someone to replace her.
