Cars were lined up. The release was given and handmade cars made out of pine raced toward the finish line.
And another Pinewood Derby began in the Pleasant Valley Elementary School cafeteria for members of Cub Scout Pack 98.
Each Scout that participates started with a block of pine wood, four plastic wheels and four nails. The finished car must use all nine pieces, must not exceed a certain weight (usually five ounces), must not exceed a certain length and must fit on the track.
