A seat on Palmerton Borough Council is up for grabs after an incumbent vacated his post.
On a 5-0 vote, council agreed to accept the resignation of Councilman Randolph Gursky. Councilman Richard Nothstein was absent at the time of the vote.
Council Vice President Chris Olivia said Gursky resigned because he bought a business and moved to Florida.
Olivia said Gursky was a "wonderful council guy."
Council President Terry Costenbader added "we're going to miss him."
